01 · The idea

Sell the water before the trip.

People do not book a guide from a price list. They book because a page made them feel the river. The concept treats the site like the first ten minutes of the trip: dark water, a gauge reading, coordinates, and three words that tell you what a guide actually teaches.

Underneath the mood it stays practical. Every trip card shows its river, species, format, and a starting price, and the two guides' phone numbers close the page.

02 · Structure

One page, five decisions.

  1. 01

    Hero

Location, coordinates, headline, a one-paragraph summary, and two actions: check dates, or see the trips.

  2. 02

    Ethos

One sentence about who the crew is, and three quick facts about rivers, skill levels, and gear.

  3. 03

    Featured trips

A horizontal set of trip cards by river, from walk-and-wade days on the Deschutes to multi-day John Day floats, each opening to more detail.

  4. 04

    Raft rentals

The self-guided option: rigged rafts, shuttle and delivery, and local knowledge.

  5. 05

    Guides and booking

Short, human guide profiles, then direct phone numbers and email.

03 · Visual system

River at dusk, set in type.

  • Colour. Near-black greens named after the water itself, with sand for type, moss for labels, and one amber accent for the word that matters and the button that books.
  • Type. Anton at poster scale for the headline, Archivo for reading, and Space Mono for gauge readings, coordinates, and section labels.
  • Instrument details. A side rail with the name set vertically, a section indicator, and a flow and temperature readout give the page the feel of a river gauge. The readout is a design element, not live data.

04 · Responsive and build

A single file, on purpose.

  • The whole concept is one self-contained HTML file with its styles inline, so it loads in a single request beyond its fonts.
  • Below 860px the side rail gives way to a menu button and the layout restacks for a phone.
  • Reduced-motion rules are included, so the loading sequence and scroll effects stand down for visitors who ask for less movement.

05 · Status

Concept redesign.

Little Creek Outfitters is a real business. This project is a White Hill concept and is not the outfitter's official website. It is labeled as a concept in the footer of the build.
